Personal Biography

My story starts here...

Living where I still live today in Horsehay, me and my mate Joe who was a year older than me never really played many amazing games,
We came across sims, sim city and civilization II, but there was no games in which I am playing today, that where available to me then.
We spent most of our time after school finding ourselves having a new craze every other week or so, the one week we would be hooked on empirequest.com, and the next we would be living sim lives on the sims.
In saying this we did do what most young lads do now and find ourselves just hanging around the streets of the estate playing football, kerby and even hocky.
Then along came "Lenny", Lenny was a lad who was 2 years older than me.
He was big tall and he was ginger, but his real name was Ashley.

He moved in and he was compared to me and Joe, a rich kid, yet lived a very scruffy lifestyle with the 12 dogs he had, i say 12 i mean 12.
After like a couple of getting to know Lenny we were finally introduced to a game called counterstrike.
Now i don't know what version it was but i know it was before 1.4 because i remember him telling me that he can't wait to download "de_dust 2", he was really excited because de_dust was the best map back then and I remember him thinking that 30mb for de_dust 2 was alot and on his paper round, he was hoping it would be done when he got back.
Back then steam wasn't around, you needed patch after patch after patch to play counterstrike online, and with most people on 56kb it was still great in its day.

Me and Joe loved it, after lenny had copied the game for us both and we had started meeting eachother at night playing counterstike online, I was amazed and I was fasonated by it.
However it was always hard for me to actually have that much time online playing it, my dad would only alow me to have so many hours a day (about 2 I think) and this just was a tease for me but I would eat and sleep thinking about the game that changed my life.
Now installing Halflife I automatically got teamfortress, I had much trouble with getting counterstrike to work as I remember losing the disks for all the patches when I had messed up a newer patch for the game, so i found myself playing team fortress online.
This guys I played a lot more than counterstrike I would say, but I actually don't know looking back why I couldn't just uninstall everything to do with counterstrike and then get the patches off Lenny again =/
But no i didn't, and I missed counterstrike and would never play it again on my PC.
As time went on I grew bored of team fortress, Joe had moved away from my estate, and I found my self with out counterstrike and bored of team fortress!

Around year 9 in secondary school my mate Kev let me borrow "Vietcong" to install, and this is where I first got into competitive online gaming.
I must of played the game online for about a month on 56k, then I got my BIG upgrade to 1mb!
I made a clan unofficially (because there was no leagues/ladders for the game) called TGT, (the green terrors)
We had a freewebs website and just played the game for a laugh daily meeting each other on a server which you could create publicly.
I played Vietcong for a long time but not always in TGT, after a while I did get bored of the game and people moved on.

Come year 11 in the Christmas season on about the 28th, I bought half life 2 and i didn't realize until I got home to install it, that the game came with counterstrike source.
I spoke to lenny on msn asking him what the hell it was, and if it was better than counterstrike. (we all know what he said)
To my surprise my pc could handle the game, not to the best ability but it could, and my dream of playing counterstrike had not only come around but had got better as I had the next best thing!

I must of played the game for about a month and a few days until I had found enemydown.
I looked at the counter strike source ladders (premier and division 1) and I came across a clan called Original Killers. ( #oK> )
On the 5th of February (2 days before my birthday - how I remember the date) I applied to join the clan, and spoke to a chap called Badass^uk.
I started to mingle in with the lads and started learning the ways of the game.
I didn't get picked that much for matches to start off with and in all honestly I didn't mind, as I was scared to play them because I had no idea what to do!

As time went on in Original Killers as most people do in clans, I became more of a clan member rather than just a newbie and I became really close friends with, Badass^uk, Hellfire^uk, Illmatic, Pringle, Topcat, Dade, Starwolf, Smiling Nihilist and Commander Stryka.
During our time, we developed our skills as a team and got to 5th in the Enemydown division 1.
Come the summer period after all my GCSE's I had become a bit of a PC whore and sat at my PC constantly with a can of strongbow in my hands.
I started playing Guildwars with several members of #oK> and then slowly watched #oK's reign in enemydown collapse.

Illmatic and Pringle left the clan just after Dade had for stupid reasons which I wont go into, and this then caused others to leave, for example shortly after I left, so did Badass^uk, the great leader.
After about a week with out a clan me and Badass watched his former clan become very different, the surviving new members of the clan changed the name and changed the clan.
I then found out that Dade had made a clan called Ghost Watch ([GW]) and myself and Badass applied to join and became official members in no time.
The clan its self was a fun multi gaming community which was a fantastic idea, playing Counterstrike source and batterfield 2 mainly.
During our recruiting days for the counter strike source team, I found a chap called Moleman and I asked him if he would like to join our clan.
On the BF2 front, they had recruited a lad called Andrew who's main game was bf2, and a lad called Ratkiller who played both the games.

After a few games in enemydown, [GW] was no more when Dade just couldn't be arsed, and Pringle & illmatic lost the plot.
Yet again this left myself and Badass clanless.
I tried and tried to find a team in enemydown who would offer me the same as what #oK> had done but there was no one.
I then figured the only way I can have a clan how I want one is to make it.

I spoke to Badass asking him if he was up for helping me make a new clan but he really wasn't too interested.
A week later I asked him again, and he said "yeah fuck it why not."
We agreed to go halfs on a server, and he would sort the clan out with his teamspeak which he already had and a website which he made for us.
We sat there on his teamspeak for an hour thinking of a name but we couldn't think of one.
He then came up with the name "KillerInstincts" which we both agreed on and Ki was born.
With just two of us in the clan we needed members, Ratkiller from [GW] was also clan searching and we bought him along, so he was our official first clan signing.
Next Moleman from [GW] made a post on our forums asking if he could join, and in no time we snatched him up.
I then found a very shy lad who called himself n33p who became our first signing of someone we didn't know.
The same day I was approached by Fuzzles who said he liked the sound of our clans intentions, and he wanted to get to know me. I went on a server with him saw him play, and I said these words, "mate you might be a bit good for us don't know if you still want to join." He did xD.
Next I found a lad called Martin on a server who was "pawning" and I quickly asked him if he would join us, at first he wasn't sure but he soon agreed to.
Now during all this Andrew was asking me if he could join Ki as he had bought CSS with no team to play with because of [GW] folding.
I really wasn't sure of him and if I wanted him in the clan, as because in [GW] he played lots with Illmatic and Pringle and I really didn't know if he was going to try and wreck the clan.
He assured me he wasn't with them and what his intension's were, and he was then Ki's final member at this time.

Ki were formed officially on the 5th October 2005 by FletchuK and Badass^uk, they then got accepted into the enemydown divison 1 ladder on Oct 22nd 2005.

With in a month of being in enemydown Ki managed to get their first ever clan award, bronze recommendations for November 2005.
As time went by, new recruits came and new recruits left. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Ratkiller as personal reasons in his life caused him to stop playing online.
We managed to get to 10th in enemydown open ladder with 1140+ points total, then an amazing 18 match winning streak which was the second best ever in Enemy Down during 2006.
Different problems haunted Ki behind the scenes, including fall outs between myself and Badass, poor leadership by myself in some situations and flaming in matches.

Towards the end of Ki's reign new members joined the clan, Jon from a team called [BPuK] joined us after playing many matches against us, and a jordi called Ben joined us from a failed Ki'2 clan.
These two members can I state joined AFTER we had got the 10th in enemydown, even though you can argue that they were our best two members skill wise.
N33p became very close to Jon and Ben, and so did I, but I was starting to have the best time of my life making many friends at college and I started to go out regally at weekends.
Ki started to become less and less active, n33p who was DCL wouldn't however arrange matches to keep the clan active, it was as if I had to do it all.
Eventually and inevitably these three "core" members left the clan with out even telling me leaving Ki 3 active members short.
Their intentions were to start a new clan that would have a smaller roster and become more active.
In my eyes they shitted on us and will never be forgiven for it.
Before they left, a very active member called Killerluke (sheepy) left the clan because he had personally issues with how the team was being picked fair enough I didn't mind that and saw it coming.
Sadly the day after I found out that n33p, Ben, and Jon had left, I also watched Fuzzles leave the clan for NEA who he used to play for who were just starting up again.
I put on a brave face when Ki had been left in ruins and I tried to keep the surviving members around.

It was myself, Badass, Martin, Moleman and Andrew left in the clan and sadly I was the next go.
I went on to join Halflife2.net who were a clan that I said if I was ever to leave Ki I would try and get into.
A few days later Badass, Martin and Moleman joined Fuzzles at NEA.

Andrew however never left KillerInstincts and decided later on he would milk this thinking he was the shit.
I did keep myself in the clan as leader, but with no steam id. I did this in case one day I wanted to come back to make a new Ki if hl2.net didn't work out.
KillerInstincts went dormant on the 09/04/06.

Below are members that once played for Ki during "old Ki" which is what we now refer to it as.

FletchuK, Badass, N33p, Fuzzles, Ben, Jon, SUB, Moleman, Andrew, 98p, Killaluke, Martin, Sexor, Emo, Ickle One, Corpse, Rapala, Commander Styrka, Ratkiller, Superross and Shadow.

At hl2.net I played along side some fantastic players in which I helped at the end, achieve Third Place in May 2006 with in the EDCSSL Season 4 Div 6.
Sadly I joined the clan towards the end of their reign and wasn't there for that long at all.
When the clan was near its end I asked one of their members "Cammel" to come with me back to KillerInstincts.
The next day on the 14th June 2006 I got Fuzzles, Moleman, Martin and Badass back on the KillerInstincts roster to reform the legendary clan.
I informed Andrew who as I said never left the clan, and he became active again with us.

KillerInstincts were then reborn.
Our first few members from initially restarting the clan were;

FletchuK, Fuzzles, Moleman, Martin, Pants(Badass), Andrew, Killerluke and Cammel.

We then went on to recruit Kizz and Luke.uK who we had known from mixing and what not.

Fuzzles become co-leader of the clan with me, but our intentions were some what different from "old ki."
We wanted to make KillerInstincts a community. Basically we wanted a fun clan, with around 15-20 members.
So many players joined the team on trial, but many of them left.
Throughout the end of June and all of July we played 2 matches a day at 8 and 9 Monday to Thursday.
It was active and it was good to see the clan back, but there were many cases where we didn't have enough members around to complete the squad so we had to play with like 3/4.
Come August we had hit an inactive stage, so phase 2 (stage 1 of new Ki) KillerInstincts started off very badly indeed compared to how "old ki" did.
We cleared up some of the roster, but left a member on the roster who still exists today known as Fury. He went inactive during the July period to play WOW.

In the second half of August we again tried to get the clan up and running for a second time in terms of activity. (stage 2 of new Ki)
We recruited a few new members such as Mikey (now known as ReG^) and brought back the likes of Tom (Rapala)
Fury then came back and started whoring css again, and this is about the time we recruited Crono and when Cammel left.
Myself and Fuzzles then agreed that having a max of 13 members would be the way it would be from now on.
We played matches here and there, but never got that active or achieved too much.

After a couple of weeks we all got really into the game, playing 2 to 3 matches a night but sadly losing so many matches.
We came as low as 666 points in the open ladder, but it never forced anyone to leave and we enjoyed what we were doing each night, if we would come on and lose 3 matches with in the night we would look at it as "tommorow is another night."
We eventually grew stronger as a team and worked our way up the ladder becoming more and more active.

The second half of this story will be completed soon.

Strength and Honour.
